1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL with a 5.0-litre V8, originally from California. Red with a beige interior, 96.000 miles and four registered owners. Accident-free according to the VIN report, with a rust-free body and underbody. The car starts and runs with good oil pressure, but requires a technical inspection following several years of inactivity. The engine is a little difficult to start and idles unevenly, presumably due to the spark plug leads and dirty fuel injectors. The alternator bearing is also audible. The clear coat is peeling and the interior needs refurbishing. Both seats need reupholstering. Includes original hardtop and soft top. The soft top’s operation has not yet been tested; expect the hydraulics to need overhauling and the canvas to need replacing.
